What is a Client Report Template?
The Client Report Template is a template that can be used by all genealogists to create client reports. It includes the outline of the sections of the report and Citation Templates for some of the most commonly used sources.
I currently have several generic client report templates available in Microsoft Word for Macintosh and Windows platforms. The Report Templates are loaded with tabbed macro Citation Templates triggered by icons. If you want to have macros inserted in your personal template click here and go to the bottom of the page for the custom installation.
- In the Research Log Template the primary insertion of the citation is in the text body, with a couple of additional macros to copy and paste the citation into the footnote area.
- The Footnote Template only inserts the citation into the footnote area.
- The Combo Template has both sets of macros to insert citations in either area of your document.
Detailed instructions are included with each Zip file.
Note: At this present time, 9 January 2024, Microsoft Word for Mac 2016, 2019, 2021 and 365 do NOT support custom toolbars. They are working on it but until then there are two options for Word Mac 2016:
- Use keyboard shortcuts to trigger the macros until Word toolbars are completed-
- Create custom tabs with the macros. See my new support page for info-
